Fake Engraving

 Author: Rafferty River

Create An Unique Engraving Using The Fake Engraving Plugin

This plugin fakes an engraving effect by creating several layers with layer masks
based on different threshold values of the original image. The layers are filled
with wave patterns with various thicknesses and some of them will be rotated
for a more realistic effect. At the end the engraving layers are merged together
and a white layer is added to increase visibility.

Inspired by the Photoshop tutorial found here.

Wave patterns are created in Inkscape found here.

Instructions:
-------------
1) Copy the plugin fake_engraving.py into your Gimp plugin directory and the wave pattern files (waves0.png, etc.) into your Gimp patterns directory.
2) Start Gimp and open an image of about 1000 pixels or more at 300dpi which has sufficient contrast.
3) Apply the script in the Python-Fu menu.

Create An Unique Drawing Style In GIMP Using Style P

This filter "quantizes" an image (the user chooses the number of colours).
Then it fills each separated colour area with a gradient chosen randomly from a set.
The user enters a "discriminant" text, used by Gimp to extract the subset of gradients wanted).
The filter by default makes use of the discriminant "mandelbulb_"
This string determines the extraction of all gradients of the Mandelbulb_nnn set.
The set must be present in the user's active gradients.
If you do not have it, it is included in the package.
Obviously you may use any set you like.

Get the Mandelbubler gradient sets here.

Diego's Drawing Style O

Create An Unique Drawing Style Using Style O

It makes use of G'mic Doodle (hence it's a bit slow).
Then it applies G'mic Color Abstract.
Outcomes may or may not be pleasant.
It depends on the user's acceptance of "strange" colours.
It can generate an optional frame.
